The Cascade Neighborhood Pea Patch garden was bustling on Friday June 1st 2012. Local Pea Patch volunteer Harvey Jones, high school students from the Hugh Obrien Youth Leadership program and YMCA of Greater Seattle’s AmeriCorps members spent the day working in the garden. Volunteers also worked on building composting systems for the Cascade People’s Center. Creating more sustainable systems for the CPC has been one of the goals of the YMCA since they have moved in. The worm bins and underground composting receptacles are a welcomed contribution. Enjoy a stroll through the BEAUTFIUL Pea Patch garden on your way home or lunch break! Thank you volunteers for all your service!
